Day 1 — Old Town first steps

  • 13:30 Airport Express or bus 119 + metro (100 CZK). ≈100 CZK on a Lítačka day cap. A taxi quotes ≈700 — the bus wins.
  • 15:00 Old Town hotel, 3 nights (10,500 CZK). ≈3,500 CZK/night a few lanes off the square — close enough to walk everywhere, far enough to sleep.
  • 16:30 Old Town Square & the Astronomical Clock. Free. The hourly show is 45 seconds of medieval robotics — enjoy it, then enjoy watching the crowd's mild disappointment.
  • 19:00 Czech classics off the square (350 CZK). ≈350 CZK for svíčková or goulash two lanes from the square; on it, double.

Day 2 — The Castle, done properly

  • 08:30 Charles Bridge at dawn-ish. Free. Before 09:00 you share it with statues and photographers; by 11:00 it is a procession.
  • 09:30 Prague Castle (Circuit B) (450 CZK). ≈450 CZK: St Vitus Cathedral, Old Royal Palace, Golden Lane. The cathedral's south doors hide the shortest queue.
  • 13:00 Lunch in Malá Strana (300 CZK).
  • 15:00 Petřín hill & the funicular (60 CZK). Funicular on the transit pass (≈60 CZK); the mini-Eiffel lookout tower is ≈150 more if legs insist.
  • 18:00 Kampa island & the Lennon Wall. Free. Riverside calm below the bridge traffic.

Day 3 — Josefov & beer culture

  • 09:30 Jewish Quarter circuit (550 CZK). ≈550 CZK for the synagogues + Old Jewish Cemetery — allow a reflective half-day; the Pinkas memorial walls are the point.
  • 13:00 Lunch at a lokál-style beer hall (300 CZK). ≈300 CZK. Tank pilsner, unpasteurised, ≈60 CZK a half-litre — Prague's single greatest bargain.
  • 15:30 Vyšehrad fortress. Free ramparts, metro two stops. The other castle — locals' picnics, river views, Dvořák's grave, no crowds.
  • 19:30 Evening beer crawl, properly (200 CZK). ≈200 CZK covers three tank-beer stops. Order by raising fingers; the beer arrives until you put a coaster on the glass.

Day 4 — Letná & goodbye

  • 09:30 Letná park viewpoint. Free. The postcard sweep of all the bridges at once — where the giant Stalin statue stood until 1962; a metronome ticks there now.
  • 11:30 Café Savoy-style brunch (350 CZK). ≈350 CZK under a Habsburg ceiling.
  • 14:00 Bus + metro back to the airport (100 CZK). Allow 2.5 hours before departure.
