Day 1 — Harbour bearings

13:30 Metro from Copenhagen Airport (CPH) (40 DKK). ≈40 DKK, 15 min to Kongens Nytorv — the M2 runs driverless every few minutes.
15:00 Indre By hotel, 3 nights (3,600 DKK). ≈1,200 DKK/night in the old core. Copenhagen is compact; from here everything below is a walk or a short bike ride.
16:30 Nyhavn, then AWAY from Nyhavn (65 DKK). The painted harbour is the photo (free) — take it, then walk the waterfront to Ofelia Plads instead of paying Nyhavn's canal-side beer tax (a coffee ≈65 DKK there).
19:00 Smørrebrød dinner (150 DKK). ≈150 DKK for two-three pieces. Open-faced sandwiches taken as seriously as sushi — herring first, always.

09:30 Rosenborg Castle & the crown jewels (135 DKK). ≈135 DKK. A Renaissance pleasure palace in a city park; the jewels are in the basement vault, still in use.
11:30 Round Tower (Rundetaarn) (40 DKK). ≈40 DKK. A 7.5-turn spiral RAMP, not stairs — a king once drove a carriage up it. City rooftops at the top.
13:00 Torvehallerne market lunch (120 DKK). ≈120 DKK. Two glass halls of Danish produce — the duck-fat confit sandwich at Ma Poule has a following it deserves.
15:00 Canal boat from Ved Stranden (119 DKK). ≈119 DKK, 1h. The Marble Church, Opera House, Christianshavn's houseboats and yes, the underwhelming-on-purpose Little Mermaid, all from water level.
18:00 Christianshavn & Freetown Christiania. Free. The self-governing commune since 1971 — respect the NO-PHOTO zones on Pusher Street without exception; the rest photographs beautifully.

09:30 Coast train to Humlebæk (120 DKK). ≈120 DKK return, 35 min along the Øresund shore.
10:30 Louisiana Museum of Modern Art (145 DKK). ≈145 DKK and the best museum-to-setting ratio in Europe: Giacometti facing a sound-side panorama, Kusama's mirror room, a sculpture garden running to the sea. Give it five hours.
13:30 Louisiana café on the terrace (130 DKK). The Danish-modern cafeteria with Sweden across the water.
17:30 Dinner in Nørrebro (250 DKK). ≈250 DKK. Jægersborggade's ferment-everything bistros — the affordable end of the New Nordic wave.

09:30 Bike like a local (150 DKK). ≈150 DKK/day rental. Copenhagen has more bikes than people; the cargo-bike school run is rush hour. Ride the Bicycle Snake bridge over the harbour.
12:30 Reffen street food (summer) or Broens Gadekøkken (120 DKK). ≈120 DKK at the harbourside container markets — swim platforms next door if you brought nerve; the water is genuinely clean.
15:00 Amalienborg changing of the guard or Designmuseum (130 DKK). Guard change free at noon (adjust morning if keen); Designmuseum ≈130 DKK for the chair tunnel every Instagram knows.
18:00 Tivoli Gardens by night (165 DKK). ≈165 DKK entry (rides extra). The 1843 garden that inspired Disney — go at dusk when the lamps come on and it earns every year of its myth. Closed parts of autumn/winter outside the Halloween/Christmas seasons.
